Fundamentals of the Role of Plants
in Urban Sustainability

Plants and Becoming Civilized. Learn how ornamental and food plants impacted societal development and how you can advance sustainability within your urban setting through the inclusion and development of greenspaces. For the urban gardener, plants contribute to the mental health and well-being of adults and children; for urban planners and decision makers, plants increase property values. Become an advocate for the development of ornamental and agricultural gardens in your urban environment.

This 12-week online course can be taken on its own or as part of the Sustainable Urban Agriculture or Horticulture Certificates.

Fundamentals starts on Monday, January 7, 2013. Register now.
