Dear Gardeners,

I am writing to invite members of your Garden Club to participate in the Sorrento Retreat and Conference Centre 2011 Course Series, titled Ecology and Sustainable Agriculture in B.C. Sorrento Centre is a retreat and conference centre located in the town of Sorrento, BC, on 22 acres on the shores of Lake Shuswap.  We host a wide variety of courses and retreats throughout the year with themes including arts, music, spirituality and gardening.
The “Ecology and Sustainable Agriculture in BC Series” is comprised of three independent courses, one each in May, July and October.  This is an opportunity for gardeners to immerse themselves in the gardens and to focus on learning.  We have abundant resources for garden education including extensive flower gardens, an established orchard and The Sorrento Centre Farm.
The Sorrento Centre Farm is a fruit and vegetable farm, where we grow a wide variety of crops including vegetable plants for seed, flowers, experimental grain plots, a small vineyard and honey bees. The Ecology and Sustainable Agriculture courses are geared towards classroom instruction and reflection as well as hands-on workshops at our sustainable farm.  Course components will include practical, social and spiritual aspects of life in the garden.
I have attached a PDF of the course descriptions with this e-mail for you to kindly share with your gardening club. If you would like print versions of our poster, pamphlet or program book or have any questions please contact me at 250-675-2421.
Thank you in advance for sharing this information with your fellow gardeners.
Sincerely,
Dave Wides
