I’m sure everyone notice how wet the garden was this Spring. The city came by to clear the drainage system and it seems they had success. From David Tracey:

I haven’t been down to check yet, but I’ve heard from our park board drainage guy that there were on site today and were able to clear out the drainage pipes so that things are flowing again. they said one (some?) of the pipes were completely blocked by roots, and that they left some of the root examples nearby so we can see what they mean. Apparently they had to cut into the pipe to get the root cutter in there. They then refilled it with drainage rock so that things are all “free flowing.” They also said they know now how the pipes are laid out, and have a recommendation for how/where we ought to dig and slope things a little differently for better drainage in the future. They say they’d be happy to explain this all on site
